Yabatech Rector Applauds FG in Education Funding

The Rector, Yaba College of Technology has applauded the Federal Government for its support in funding education especially the tertiary institutions through the Education Trust Fund, World Bank STEP-B projects and good policy put in place.

The commendation was made at a surprised birthday party organized for her by her children and friends who rallied round her children to organise the function as a mark of honour and love for her in marking her forty-ninth birthday anniversary.

In her testimony, the rector, Mrs. Margaret Kudirat Ladipo was grateful to the Federal Government for turning round the institutions by providing new facilities in the workshop, Laboratories and Staff development programs that updates the staff in imparting knowledge.

She was of the view that in the next two years the efforts of the government will yield fruitful result and the fears that Nigeria tertiary institutions are not listed among world best would be a thing of the past.

Ladipo then implored the government not to relent but to keep up the spirit and also called on the private sector to support the Federal Government as the Government cannot alone fund Education. Adding that there is the need to further empower women who are Chief Executives of Tertiary Institutions stating that if you empower a woman the nation will be liberated.

The Institutions, Staff and Students who are the beneficiaries, she admonished to value the government gesture and ensure that the facilities are well put into good use, properly maintained for good dividend.

Speaking at the occasion, the children in one voice eulogized their mother describing her as a disciplinarian, a role model and a kind hearted mother, who loves all and sundry as her own children. They said that Mrs. Ladipo is a mother that thinks of others before herself and family. She is always willing to serve humanity.

Her friends were not left out in giving testimonies that the Rector of Yaba College of Technology is a unique personality, full of courage, warm hearted and intelligent. They testified to her Administrative prowess and Managerial skill which she has been demonstrating from her school days.
