Yabatech to review Strategic Plan

The foremost tertiary institution in Nigeria, Yaba College of Technology will soon commence the review of her strategic plan that seized to operate in December, 2009.

The new rector of the college, Mrs Magaret Kudi Ladipo disclosed this at her maiden address to the staff at a forum called College family meeting on Monday, January 2009.

According to her, a strategic planning workshop is being arranged to hold very soon for all stakeholders, where “l shall present my strategic agenda and invite all stakeholders to make inputs to evolve the College bible for the next level of a centre of excellence”.

In her maiden address, Mrs. Ladipo said that the College will locate, sort and enter into partnership and exchange programmes with relevant local and foreign institutions in such areas as research, innovation, teaching, learning and general business.

She added that new programmes, in accordance with her administration vision and the demands of contemporary times as affects the industrial and manufacturing sectors for human capacity building in that the college is ready to expand in infrastructures and facilities to enhance productivity in support of the federal government seven point agenda and world standard of education.

The Rector charged the entire staff to embrace the culture of research and professional development as mechanism will be put in place to ensure regular training of staff to improve individual knowledge base, skills and competencies in the wake of the college becoming a degree awarding institution any moment from now.

Ladipo declared to over 5000 staff of the college both academic and non-academic staff that the college Epe campus is a big project that is very dear to her administration’s heart and would do every thing possible to develop the campus in the light of the challenges being faced at the main campus in terms of space and the likes.

Said she; “I intend to actualize the commencement of academic activities in the Epe campus in order to overcome the challenges of space constraint and to revisit the master plan of the campus to explore the new opportunities .

On staff welfare, she assured the staff and students that welfares of the duo is a cardinal point of her regime. The newly completed ETF building project in the college, according to her shall be allocated to deserving schools to alleviate the problem of office accommodation while office furniture and equipment needs shall be attended to.

Mrs Ladipo passionately admonish the staff and students of the college to work for peaceful coexistence and harmony in the college for productivity to be achieved. She enjoined all and sundry to contribute their quota with every sense of commitment, dedication, hardworking and fear of God towards taking the college to the next level.

The Rector also appealed to all staff to do their jobs diligently and endeavour at all times follow the rules and regulations, making contributions in achieving the desired peace, harmony and mutual understanding as a sign of cooperation with the new administration which has made open door policy her watchword.
